Emotions and stress
Too strong stimuluses are called stressor.
In response to the situation hard body reacts complex defensive reactions. Stress encountered in all cases of threats to the life of the subject. Stagnant, long-term stress can be caused by a long stay in an unsafe conditions.
Stress syndrome often arises in situations that are dangerous to the prestige of man, when he fears to disgrace himself in somebody's or in their own eyes. The condition, similar to stress, may be born systematic failures in life.
The concept of stress imposed by Canadian scientist Hans Sel`e. He defined stress as a combination of adaptive-protective reaction of organism to the impact of causing physical and mental trauma.
In the development of stress identified three phases:
Stage growing anxiety - when you are stress, people are not even always clearly aware of it, begins to experience increasing anxiety. He feels increasingly uncomfortable and feverishly looking for ways to cope with this discomfort. It takes a lot of force. Man spends more energy than used to, and unconsciously looking for sources of replenishment. For example, the beginning is too much, or sleep, etc.
Phase Resistance (stabilization). Man adapts to the Effects of stress and apparently he managed to maintain relatively normal, but to maintain a satisfactory condition now requires much more energy than before as there was stress.
Stage of exhaustion. If the second stage to the stressor is not terminated, then in the end, "strategic reserves" energy body are exhausted and then could be a sharp injury. Humans can get sick seriously, may be nervous exhaustion. Sometimes this situation can lead to the death of the organism.
The nature of a stressful situation depends not only on the assessment of hazard to the stressor, but also the ability to respond to it in some way. People can learn appropriate behavior in various stressful situations.
In overcoming the stress manifested two behavioral types of personality:
Internal - the people who rely on their strength.
External - the people who count on help from other people in difficult situations.
These characteristics are, in fact, the two poles of the scale (external ... internal). Basically, people are showing a mixed type of response. In some situations, expected support, while some, on the contrary, hoping only on herself. Nevertheless, different people may be some type of behavior to prevail.
Externalities type of behavior is typical for the immature, self-doubt individuals. It is Internal type of behavior - has people who are not inclined to socialize, it is enclosed, self-identity. Sometimes this excessive secrecy prevents resort to help other people
